Who knows

I was just wondering who knows about your incontinence, apart from my wife nobody knew I was incontinent I don't know how people would react if they knew so I kept it to myself has anyone any experiences they would like to share, I suppose forums like this is a way of admitting you have incontinence without having to worry about peoples reactions.

Great question David. In my younger days a few of my friends knew that I wet myself, but it was never brought up.
Other than that I have never told anyone about my incontinence. My first wife and my present wife obviously.
I've been fortunate to keep it quiet. I used pads and a clamp when I worked. I'm retired now so I use more pullup
disposables. Occasionally pads in my underwear with plastic pants over them.
It's tougher in the summer when there are less clothes to wear. I try to wear less bulky clothing.
If I go out with just a pad in my underwear I will have an extra pad in my pocket in a plastic baggie if I need
a change. If I'm going out for an extended period with people I use the penile clamp.
If I'm going out alone I'll use pullups.

Personally, the only person that knows about my stress incontinence is my husband. I know of one other person that has stress incontinence and is somewhat open about it. My best friend's Aunt has told a few people about her stress incontinence.

My husband was a bed wetter until 13 and no one except for his Mom and Dad knew. My brother was also a bed wetter until 12 and again only my immediate family knew.

It seems to be vey much a taboo subject and one that people will generally only discuss if they are anonymous. I imagine we all know people that are incontinent and are also hiding it we just aren't aware of it.

Nobody knows but my spouse. I have an uncle who is incontinent and he wets his self every other time I see him. I suggested he wear a diaper and he got angry at me and said " So I am suppose to just wet myself" and the funny thing is that is what he is already doing. I was at a close friend of mine's house and he started to talk about one of his neighbors and said "she can't do nothing, she's in diapers". As he said this I was wearing a wet diaper and thinking to myself how glad I am that nobody knows. I can't believe how people act about this health condition. I even read about a lady who would not leave her home for two years because she was embarrassed and would not wear a diaper.

Unfortunately, ignorance of this condition is rampant. Sounds like your Uncle feels like if he started wearing diapers he would be admitting defeat...which is a shame because it's just a matter of time where he too will start limiting his exposure to other people to not be embarrassed.
