It depends (no pun intended) on the amount of leakage. Depends are the least absorbent of the pull-ups.
Good for minor drips but that's about all.
I have used the Tranquility Premium pull ups for years. Very absorbent. I use them every night.
As soon as I stand up in the morning my bladder empties.
During the day I leak whenever I stand up but not as much as the first thing in the morning.
Mainly because my blood pressure pills are also a diuretic.
I can get by with pads during the day, but if I leave the house, I'll put on the Tranquility.
On a normal day I can get by with 2 pull-ups but it's easier to change pads 4-5 times.
I don't like to take my pants off everytime I change and the ones with side tabs are way too bulky.
Sorry, I didn't mean to ramble on.

Thanks for the feed back Richard and I agree with you that pads are easier to change than pants it's a pity they don't make the pants with Velcro sides so as they could be changed easier but I suppose that would be the same as wearing a nappy I think you can get pads that have a re usable elastic belt that buttons onto the pad but supplies here seem to be limited to Depends, Moli Care, and Tena thanks again for replying to me we must chat again soon.

I should have mentioned this before.
Sometimes I'll buy cheaper pull-ups over e-bay.
They are not as absorbent, but I'll put a pad in them. Then change pads as needed.
Normally if I use pads only I'll put them in my regular underwear.
My regular underwear is reusable with a built in pad.
It all depends whether a person wants to do laundry or it's easier to use disposables.

Hi David: I had a cystoscopy when was a teen. The only thing I can remember is that it was an uncomfortable feeling
but nothing painful. If you have had urodynamic testing it's somewhat similar except the filling of the bladder.
But there is no anesthesia involved with urodynamics. I think there is a mild anesthetic involved with the cystoscopy.
It just raises my stress level when I have any bladder tests.
It's nothing really to be worried about. It's a routine test these days.
Good luck.
Let us know how it goes.

Hi Richard thanks for the reply I am getting a general anesthetic and they are using a rigid cystoscope so I guess it might be sore when the anesthetic wears off you can read all sorts about it on line some good some bad but it is much better talking to real people my problem is only relatively recent I take it yours has been a problem for some time now is there any chance that you will ever be free of your incontinence or are you stuck with it ?.

Hey David:
Unfortunately I am "stuck" with my incontinence.
The last possibility was an "artificial sphincter" implant.
The problems with that was:
1) Insurance does not cover that. It's still considered experimental.
2) The cost would be over $20,000.
3) The implant if successful would not stop leakage 100%. Would still need pads or disposables.
I've been incontinent all my life so I've adjusted to it.
I do use a penile clamp from time to time to stay dry.

Hi again Richard I tried to use a pad inside my pull up pants but when that got wet it just leaked out the sides it was probably because of the waterproof backing on the pad I have read about the clamp do they really work they are expensive enough to buy the doctors think it's urge incontinence I have and are doing the cystoscopy to make sure there is no blockages of any sort and that medication and bladder re training should hopefully sort things out I actually don't mind the pads plastic pants or pull ups that much I was just tankfull the prostate was ok what part of the world are you in Richard if you don't mind me asking.

Hi David:
I guess everything depends on the amount of leakage we have. If I put a pad in my pullups I will check and
change it after about three hours. Then if gets to the evening and I have to change it I just remove it and use the pullups until I go to bed. I will have plastic pants over them for insurance.
The bladder retraining won't work with me. The sphincter muscles are damaged too far.
